Welcome to my Professional Portfolio
Hello!
My name is Joy Daniels and I am an educator at the Long Branch Public Schools and I am also a student at the UNE working to obtain my Masters in Educational Leadership. I hope my website will give you a clear peek of my accomplishments and time that was put towards my masters degree.
I am from the shores of New Jersey. My first five years of teaching was in preschool, three years were in kindergarten, and I am in my third year as a kindergarten district facilitator. My first year teaching, my colleagues, named me the "musical nut" for a great reason. You name it and I had a tune for every concept you can think of. I am a true believer that music is a strong learning tool to incorporate into the classrooms and make connections with lessons. Music connects understanding, language, wonder, and culture all in one.
My role as a coach is to help the kindergarten teachers implement the curriculum effectively and encourage best teacher practices that will help our children to become life long learners. This job also allows me to collaborate and share great ideas with staff. I am bias in saying that kindergarten is the best grade to teach. The first five years of a child's life are fundamentally important. This foundation shapes children's future health, happiness, growth, development, and learning achievement throughout their lives.
On a personal level, I am married to my high school sweetheart and have one child that mimics my every move. I sometimes miss having my own classroom so much that I use my daughter as a sample student for all my mini projects. She is teaching me so many things about early learning and seeing this big world through her eyes. My daughter motivates me to achieve excellence and I want to model that for her as much as possible.

to see."
